Drumbeg is a small crofting village 14 miles north of Lochinver on the B869 part of the North Coast 500 route. Here you will find Drumbeg stores, an award winning independent licensed shop and Assynt Aromas. A candle and soap shop with a delightful tea garden.

Torbeg Cottage provides an excellent base from which to explore all that Assynt has to offer.The area has walks suitable for all from the tracks and paths of Little Assynt and the peat roads to the majestic peaks of Suilven, Canisp and Quiniag.
Sandy beaches with crystal clear waters can be found at Achmelvich, Clachtoll and Clashnessie all within 14 miles of Drumbeg. Culkein Drumbeg, a mile from the cottage is a popular spot for kayaking and exploring the many tiny islands and coves around Oldany.
Assynt boasts several hundred fresh water lochs, where the intrepid fly fisher can pit their wits against the elusive wild brown trout.
You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to finding a piece of coastline for a spot of sea fishing.

Opportunities to view the wildlife abound. From the magnificent Red Deer on the hillsides, to Dolphin and Whale watching at Stoer Lighthouse. Assynt is home to great many birds and is a bird watchers paradise. Handa Island a Scottish Wildlife Trust reserve is within reach of Torbeg Cottage.
